Bio: Born and raised in Alaska, Leon has a Bachelor of Arts from the Evergreen State College in Ecological Design. Leon has been a preschool teacher and coordinator of the Energy Outreach Center, a non-profit information center for green building and renewable energy. Currently, he is a member the board of directors of the Community Built Association, a national non-profit supporting community involvement in public projects.

These are designs for various natural playscape projects at preschools and childcare centers around the US and Canada. A natural playscape is an outdoor play environment that engages children with nature, provides opportunities for creative, open-ended play, exploration and healthy development. The playscapes are built by community volunteers utilizing the skills of local artists and artisans with materials from the local natural environment.
